Legal Compliance

All Henriquetta pieces are handcrafted in solid sterling silver (925) or 9k solid gold. I do not use plating or any base metals.

Whenever legally required, my work is hallmarked and registered with the INCM (Imprensa Nacional – Casa da Moeda) in Portugal.

➤ Assay Office Marks

All items are tested and marked by the Portuguese official assay offices at Imprensa Nacional da Casa da Moeda, ensuring legal fineness and compliance with Portuguese hallmarking law.

These new assay marks have been in effect since January 2021. In Portugal, numeric marks like "925" are not used—each metal has a specific symbol:

  • Gold: ram’s head facing right (750, 585, 375); facing left (999, 916, 800).
  • Silver: rabbit’s head left (999, 925); right (835, 830, 800).
  • Platinum: hummingbird’s head left (999, 950, 900, 850).
  • Palladium: lynx head left (999, 950, 500).

Assay Marks Example

According to Portuguese law, hallmarking is mandatory for:

  • Silver pieces over 2 grams
  • Gold pieces over 0.5 grams

Each eligible piece is marked with the appropriate fineness stamp and official assay office mark.

If needed, you may contact the INCM or consult this list of certified valuers for further verification of a product’s authenticity.
